It's so great, none of the pictures I took to use as backgrounds came out clearly enough to use in a comic! YAY!

As I've mentioned MANY times since I started attending, AWA is just a few minutes away from where I grew up. To me, the fact that the Cobb Galleria is pretty much exactly the way it looked in the mid-90s is less a sign of dangerously poor development planning and severe economic stagnation and more a lovely nostalgia trip. ESPECIALLY the Game Room being in the same spot where the old Namco Cyberstation used to be. That was one of the only reasons I ever went to the Galleria as a kid (since, otherwise, Cumberland Mall across the street rendered it completely redundant), the other being the AMC theater directly across the hall. AMC had left that spot empty and abandoned after building a bigger theater nearby, so when AWA decided to open it up and let WEDOCA take over the entire hall, it's was just about the only way they could possibly have made my nostalgia trip any more powerful.

To be clear, though, they didn't actually use any of the THEATERS, I can't imagine there's even anything still in there at this point. They just put more machines in the lobby and set up a big screen in the concession stand. But still, it was the first time I'd been in that room in DECADES, and all the vintage neon lighting made for better atmospherics than just about any other Game Room I've ever seen. PLEASE let them do this again next year, guys!
