"They" become a more and more untrustworthy source of information all the time.

So, remember what I said about using fictional anime as a means of making fun of real shows and fanbases without having to actually make fun of real shows and fanbases? Well, that's in full effect here, because at least five separate fandoms went into the making of this comic, and now I have plausible deniability for ALL of them! (Well, unless you look at the alt text, that kind of spoils it for one of them)

...and don't even pretend you haven been stuck within earshot of this exact guy at SOME point during a con.

When "They" say that, "They" are (likely) referring to the panelists, or about people you can walk away from when you realize that they're being obnoxious blowhards. Having not actually been to a panel at a convention, I can't actually say in truth.

Just substitute "panel" with "forum" or "thread" or "comment section" and the experience is pretty similar.

@ Blitz: And I have the good sense of mind to avoid the ones of those that are actually bad. Seriously, with my pickiness, the worst forum I joined ended up with everyone leaving due to the author of the comic and universe the forum was based on being up himself. And the main reason why the forum had lived so long was due to the Forum Game being played that he had absolutely no interaction with. And, no, it's not my story to tell. Let's just say that that author's particular preference was fine, but inverting it resulted in "Ew, gross", despite the rest of the community that had grown around his comic being perfectly fine, and even supportive of those who fit into a minority, in relation to either way.

Basically, I'm saying that that forum probably died completely due to the Author fitting into the role of "This Exact Guy", and I am glad to have never have properly interacted with him for any decent amount of time.

Sadly "This Exact Guy" really gets around, doesn't he? :(

Tch. So rude. It's all you people who won't admit that I am completely right about everything and know better than you that are at fault, not me! Also, your taste in Everything sucks. Probably because you are not listening to me enough.

@ Actual "This Exact Guy" Types: I've heard horrible, horrible things about your actions on a personal level. If you want to be a better person with more control over your life, which is what I suspect causes you to act like this, you need to learn to not try to dominate everything and reject anything you don't like. Actions like that only serve to reduce how much control you can impart on your situation and make those who interact with you miserable. Which in turn reduces how much you can influence, and reduces how much control you have over your own life.

This feels like a good place for me to dig up an old shirt design:
